The Proclaimers- Notes and Rhymes

Just again a cracking new album from the Reid brothers. Love can move an mountain and the Reid brothers move me. Title track is brill and a little rocky. I love this album as much as Sunshine on Leith, which is my favorite album.

Jann Arden Greatest Hurts: The best of Jann Arden

This album contains some the spine chilling, emotion filled songs that have come to be associated with Jann’s music: such as Insensitive and Good Mother from my personal favourite ‘Living Under June’, and the track I Would Die For You which is on both ‘Living Under June’ and ‘Time For Mercy’ is again an equally moving and thought provoking song. Which I am stirred and challenged by.

Also on this album is the track Sleepless from the ‘Blood Red Cherry’ album. Along with a couple of songs that I had not had the pleasure of hearing before, If It Be Your Will and Thing For You and were just as wonderful as the rest of this amazing album.

Vonda Shepard

Vonda Shepard perhaps better known to many as the lady singer on Ally McBeal, had my searching my soul right from the start. But she is so much more. she was releasing albums long before Ally McBeal and still belts them out.

She has a very captivating voice, much like that of Eva Cassidy.

Cyndi Lauper

I think that I must have been in my early teens when I fell in love with Cyndi's voice.

I still find 'Sally's Pigeons' haunting to listen to, the thinking back on lost childhood friends saddens me to tears. But 'Girls just want to have fun' and 'True Colours' always to this day warm my heart, real theme songs.

Paolo Nutini

Paolo Nutini is a fourth Generation Scot, from Paisley Scotland (the same town as David Tennant and Gerry Rafferty) where he parents run a fish and chip shop which his grandfather opened. He has a wonderful gravely voice and he is only 19 years of age.

Stevie Nicks
